During dental school, Dr. Elmitt worked in Dr. Swett’s office as an E4D CAD/CAM specialist and dental assistant. These experiences gave him exposure to the philosophy of the office as well as important insight into the perspective of patients.

Dr. Elmitt received early acceptance to the University of Iowa College of Dentistry prior to his final year of undergraduate education. While in dental school, Dr. Elmitt was the winner of the American Academy of Oral Medicine award for the senior student showing the most promise in the field of oral medicine. He was also given the inaugural award for the Delta Dental Foundation Award for Excellence in Geriatric and Special Need Dentistry. This acknowledges exceptional clinical proficiency and understanding of complex oral health needs of elderly and medically compromised adult patient.

Dr. Elmitt and his wife Becky (Johnston graduate, University of Iowa doctorate in Physical Therapy), enjoy spending time with family and friends, staying active outdoors, and cheering on the Hawkeyes.

“For me, the best part of dentistry is the relationships I build with my patients and their positive reactions to finished treatment. Working alongside Dr. Swett, I am committed to delivering excellent dental care to our patients. I look forward to working with the team to give back to the community where I grew up.”
